month today or future right what can we do and I would like to just quote five little things that the National Institute of Mental Health will teach us so I want us to really get that ingrained in our brain so for you to to know that you can do something at a minimum five steps is starts by asking if the person needs to talk talk ask those difficult questions are you thinking about right keep them safe if suicide prevention is the most important thing for for you for your family for your uh loved ones and anyone that you may encounter make sure they're safe are there opportunities for physical harm remove them right so it's it's one thing that you can do the most important in my opinion is really to be there be present listen carefully listen with your heart do not multitask be there help them connect there is plenty of help and here in the U.S 988 is the number that you can call for suicide prevention okay and most of all stay connected if the person that came to you was helped check check on them it's not a pointy time it is a struggle that many of us go through but with that I would like to um go to the next slide because I am very impressed and really my ego is really my ego has expended uh a lot this past year and I just want to share with you the uh psychology and spirituality in numbers as we as we see before we start a conversation proper I just wanted to say this is a project that started many years ago I was not even remotely close to being the picture but with uh the mentorship of divaldo Pera Franco most important with Joanna DeAngelis a spiritual Mentor but also with uh Dr Jose Roberto in Ami Brazil this project was born to bring the teachings the point of connection between spirituality and psychology to the English-speaking public so with that we started a what we call a potlack podcast like weekly conversations and many of those who are here present have already been part of those conversations and for you I thank you and uh and we are here to share

a what we call a potlack podcast like weekly conversations and many of those who are here present have already been part of those conversations and for you I thank you and uh and we are here to share those numbers it's it's quite impressive if in my very humble opinion right it's a when I look at almost 50 000 views in a year um about yeah yeah yeah it's it's really not even a year right started in February so it's it's quite impressive that uh we are conned with all of us right conduit this very important message and I wanted to to say we want to to thank the US spiritus Federation for being a sponsor for this program also TV Man song that is the second of three distribution channels and uh most important all of us this community of human beings that we're here together regardless of your station life or your role uh professionally and I ask you why is this important there's so much information out there why is why are we even creating another podcast to talk about spirituality in psychology if you have a question please send we have a panel to do later but it's really a an opportunity to to disseminate this entire uh body of work we call it psycho a psychology series of psychological collection that was authored by Joanna DeAngelis 16 books and in close collaboration with developera Franco beautiful beautiful books many of them already translated into English and in this very informal setting I know I'm very formal right now but it's a very formal conversational setting we we're here this today and in this program discussing profound Concepts psychological Concepts and also we are able to provide an opportunity to confront there's a lot of Confrontation a lot of uh analysis correlation comparisons of what does it mean from a psychology perspective but also from a spiritual perspective so with grateful appreciation to the two of you and to all of those who contribute let's go ahead and get started so if you go to the next slide as you can see here we we are the two of

al perspective so with grateful appreciation to the two of you and to all of those who contribute let's go ahead and get started so if you go to the next slide as you can see here we we are the two of you cannot see but we are talking about oh that's right thank you Alan cardek we're talking about uh um Sigmund Freud we're talking about car Gustav you and this very amazing person Joanna DeAngelis at this amazing spirit and we're also going to talk a little bit about this weaving through not only historically speaking the teachings that we have access but also Concepts such as spirituality psychology Psychiatry the very important aspect of what is the collective unconscious and um something that most of us don't think much about it but the activistic Heritage that we all carry so with that let's go ahead and get started are we ready all right so when are you I'm going to put you in the spot is your microphone on awesome now it is I think yes yes with your background can you tell us a little bit about the pair I'm talking about a little bit of History right between Sigmund Freud Gustav Yume and Joanna the answers wow so first of all I'm very happy to be here it's a pleasure to be with my two friends and with all new friends um and one of the things is that why psychology um calls us so much right um I was looking in the listening to the prayer and um when our friend said to be together in hearts and Minds right so what what does that mean to be together we think When someone tells us that that okay we are together we are together now in this energy and with everybody at home that is watching us but what does that mean in a psychological and spiritual point of view we have the teachings of Jesus right 2 000 more more years ago and we have we have difficulty to this day to understand the real um I say that Jesus teachings was a non-dual teaching because it was the teachings to tell us how we go back to the source of Life the Transcendent one the unity gods okay and we all have this difficulty to

ay that Jesus teachings was a non-dual teaching because it was the teachings to tell us how we go back to the source of Life the Transcendent one the unity gods okay and we all have this difficulty to understand but spirit is knowledge more than a hundred uh 50 years ago is bringing to us especially in the in the West and is bringing to us a renewal of and a more deeper understanding of this teachings so let's go and I know that we are going to be talking together but I I wanted to ask you not to try to understand what we are talking only with our minds but to try to understand and to tune in with your hearts because our minds we and now I will get to Freud our minds is pretty much our ego right the center of our Consciousness our Consciousness that is developing uh here okay as we grow to the life uh cycle and that is trying to adapt so our ego is very word for instance Marcia and josada and myself our egos are very worried of course as anyone would be to talk to people all around the world that is watching us and when do when the we do the podcast like but of course our ego is going to be preoccupied and is Going to Be watchful are they like me or not how many likes we will have in the oh I'm not in the social media by the way but anyway who is how much how many likes I will have in the social media and this and that this is our ego and the ego is what Freud um decades ago started to explore okay and he discovered our personal personal unconscious and uh many other things everybody knows a little bit of Freud nowadays right the the set the ego the eye um it yes it in English and the super ego right so we know a little a little bit of our Oedipus complexes a little bit or a little um or a lot about our um where the post complex and about our mechanism of Defense the mechanism of defense of the ego this is all very very important because it's the starter let's say in psychology of all of our understanding of ourselves right and this is very very important because what does Jesus say like 2000

go this is all very very important because it's the starter let's say in psychology of all of our understanding of ourselves right and this is very very important because what does Jesus say like 2000 years ago love your neighbor as yourself right so what does that mean really in psychological and spiritual terms to how can I love my neighbor how can I recognize the other one as a person that I don't even know as a person that I must love what does that mean and how do I love myself do I love myself trying to be a celebrity that it's so much nowadays right oh should I be in the YouTube channel make my own channel and be in the Instagram or whatever doing saying interesting things for people for them to love me is that how I love myself no that's I'm quite certain that that was not what what Jesus was telling us how to love ourselves so going back to Freud so Freud one of the Angels explores beautifully just what you said but back to Freud okay so back to Freud at the beginning in cycle in psychology of this understanding of ourselves and I do believe not that he knew about that Freud was very not in religion as you all know in spirituality and we can later he was creating psychoanalysis but in his soul because he as all of us has a soul has this is a spirit who was reincarnated even if he wouldn't acknowledge that in his time okay in his ego when he was here in a personality but of course that was the beginning of our understanding of ourselves was the beginning of the unconscious the understanding of the unconscious of course he stayed in the personal unconscious but that was the beginning so I do think Freud gave us a lot of contributions and Joanna Jones was talked about Freud in her writings because he started you know this teachings of us understanding ourselves recognizing ourselves so that we can love ourselves but then comes Young okay everybody knows that they at certain point like for a little more than 10 years I think they were very very close and then after some time they split

at we can love ourselves but then comes Young okay everybody knows that they at certain point like for a little more than 10 years I think they were very very close and then after some time they split apart and they uh because Freud acknowledged only the personal unconscious and what he called the libido for him it would be the sexual drive okay and young whose father was um Protestant pastor uh and a lot of things in his mother was a median by the way so a lot of what we call nowadays in medical field anomalous experiences that it's the name that we call spiritual experiences for research purposes so a lot of those issues were happening in young in Young's life since childhood his childhood and he wanted very much to understand the religions at the religion and the way the psych we started naming not the mind as pride in in frightens to this day call but our Psych our Psych is as I'm quite sure most of you know in ancient Greek the soul so we say that Jung brought the soul back to psychology and and then comes Jung studying uh the soul the psych and what we call the religion's function of the psych that we can all talk about that later and he opened he goes let's say further than fried and he discovered what uh discovers what he called the collective unconscious I know all of you must know this term because in the very popular in the United States and also in Europe and Europe European countries but so the collective unconscious nowadays we call the transpersonal dimension of the psych I'm not going to talk about that right now but just for you to have an idea and for us as a spiritist it's very easy to understand that the transpersonal so goes beyond the personal beyond the ego dimension of the site so when we are talking about that I think Jung kind of realized but he didn't want to go that further sorry so what happened is that he talks about the soul as connecting two Dimensions the biological so our body our impulses and drives and the spiritual Dimension so the psych our

t to go that further sorry so what happened is that he talks about the soul as connecting two Dimensions the biological so our body our impulses and drives and the spiritual Dimension so the psych our soul is like caught between these two dimensions for a young and he talks a little bit about the spirit a little a lot about the spirit but in connection with the psych so what happens is that young doesn't go all the way and doesn't talk about the spirit and then comes Joanna DeAngelis with our dear devoteda Franco and all the spirit is knowledge by the way because previously to Joanna Jones we have Chico shavier and we had a lot of medians but in Brazil especially with all the beautiful series of Andre Louise and Emmanuel so bringing to us all this better understanding of ourselves actually what happens to the spirit after death and all this but then comes Joanna that is bringing her contributions to spiritus knowledge about psychology and about um further developing I think in just that I was going to be talking about that along cardiacs also um writings about all the spirit is and about psychology in the sense that we are the immortal Spirits so we have our um own Evolution and ways that we evolve so this is also psychology because psychology is the study of the soul of the spirit so then I just want to ask Marcia asked me to give you this um I'm weaving through right yes this update as I see Joanna Jones his teachings and most of and I think all of um the teachers we try to be nice teachers they have to study a lot I myself went to study jungen because I was very very frightened I was trained in Freud in Freud and Psychotherapy sorry and because medical doctors for us fried terms are very easy to understand because it's the way that a medical personnel understand looking always for symptoms for what makes us uh you know ill and how we can fix that but then comes you and I actually enter in contact with Jung through um Gelson's teachings wow I never I really in Brazil I hope

for symptoms for what makes us uh you know ill and how we can fix that but then comes you and I actually enter in contact with Jung through um Gelson's teachings wow I never I really in Brazil I hope and I know that here in the United States and in Europe you guys is studying much more uh Jung even as a cultural thing but in Brazil Jung to this day well now we have the Brazilian jungen Association and other jungen associations so we are getting there but in Brazil especially Madison we study a lot of Rights and we even don't study Jung at all you know so I studied um I started studying young with and the other colleagues and psychologists so I went to the and and to be an analyst that my training because of Joanna Jones not because of the medical field and I'm very proud of that and very grateful to this beautiful spirit so I just wanted for this to start to give you that fraud for me is the study of the Mind Jung is the study of the spirit the soul sorry the psych and Joanna jonesless is the study of the spirit all from the psychological point of view of us so we had that story storyline the timeline but the just said it I'm gonna give you the amazing gift to talk to us about how does cardiac and Joanna D'Angelo's get together so good morning everyone and first of all I would like to acknowledge the all of those that have made it possible for us to be here today and when I'm talking about those that made it possible for us to be here today and talking about incarnates and discarnates alike we can feel the presence of the benefactors that have been accompanying us that have been helping us to prepare this event and actually to set the spiritual tone so that we could reach more people that are going through the Pains of the soap the Pains of the Soul was actually chosen because of um what is happening today of course unfortunately pain is not new to us and it has been we all know through so many ages but lately it seems that because of the level of Consciousness that we are

of um what is happening today of course unfortunately pain is not new to us and it has been we all know through so many ages but lately it seems that because of the level of Consciousness that we are acquiring the more it feels that we are troubled by things that we at least have the intuition that are not in the right place uh we want things we look for things to see if they can fulfill us but at the end of the day we don't find this fulfillment and we do not know where where to look and where to search for that and I mentioned for instance uh this um teaching from Jesus that we should love one another and it's interesting because just this week I was listening to someone that was saying you know uh we keep on talking that we are all brothers and sisters but at the end of the day we when we look to one another what we try to do first is to try to see the differences that that person has in relation with you instead of looking for everything that connects us we try to pinpoint what that person has that is different from me and that perhaps is not going to be helping me we talked about Marshall introduced it as you know this um about the the questions on suicide and why do we think about that why do people decide to go through you know this this action because of the pain of the Soul and we are talking a lot about abortion lately as well and we would say that many people actually will think about that not only because and we have to think about it not only because you know um for a more mundane reason they don't want to have a child but because they don't want you to put a child in this world so many people we will hear saying these things as well so how can we change this perspective how can we try to work with the tools that we have and not to be swallowed by them in the sense that I'm going to let all the pains all adversity completely draw me and I'm not going to be able to breathe so this is what our conversation is all about and I mean all the uh everything that we are bringing now we

to let all the pains all adversity completely draw me and I'm not going to be able to breathe so this is what our conversation is all about and I mean all the uh everything that we are bringing now we look around we walk on down the streets and we see the pain we breathe the pain we perceive the energy and we understand why the spirits are each time more calling us to do that um I think because of uh really a blessing from the spirit this year I was able to visit the houses of three grand and great names in the psychiatric psychology field which was Victor Franco Sigmund Freud and call the staff Young and um when I got into a Freud's house it's impossible not to perceive the psychosphere of the police the walls the screen the pain of the patients the pain that was through there the first experiments the way of start connecting us with our subconscious level the pain of the Holocaust when we are talking about virtual Franco and the pain in a way that in his private office call Gustav Young um has a a window I am a mosaic window that he he it was done because he committed that to be done to uh in this private office that depicts the scenes from the crucifixion because according to him for us to grow to go through this process of getting to know ourselves is basically like going to this very painful to the cursive fiction of the ego so that you can resurrect in self so this is the reason why of course we will not have all the answers right because if that was the case oh my God no no it would be uh it would be here we would just be spreading that but what can we do to to understand to accept and still to see life with optimism and finally before I give to my colleagues I I also wanted to acknowledge uh the opportunity that has been given to us by devaldo Franco Monsanto Camille and of course Leo publisher because uh their work and the books that we have available today has tremendously I mean helped this work that we are doing that we are trying to do uh become a possibility to become a

e Leo publisher because uh their work and the books that we have available today has tremendously I mean helped this work that we are doing that we are trying to do uh become a possibility to become a reality and um and it's the basis of all our work through Joanna DeAngelis so I chose to to prepare because here we're going to talk about what have we learned what have you learned and before I ask you is I want to just uh part the audience uh in on-site or virtually we talk a lot about things so let me just make sure that I understand so Freud mind Jung psyche or so and Joanna the spirit great Concepts like for us to to start to see how the how it peels back to the spirit number two and I mentioned um several people that are amazing amazingly comfortable and familiar to us but may not be for everybody but uh who is Joanna DeAngelis she's a spiritual author right a mentor of developer Franco who is a medium that lives in Brazil and if you don't know him please check him out it's amazing the work that he continues to do at a quite Advanced age in his mid 90s Beyond mid 90s uh he also mentioned Chico who is a Francisco Xavier uh the most well-known um medium in Brazil he has past but he's somebody that if you don't know him you must know and through his mediumship we have uh spiritual authors talking to us we talked about Emmanuel and Andrea Louise I think I I checked it all out so but we we talked a lot about things here just out and I wanted to to ask you anything about our deck you didn't but we'll get there don't worry don't worry because it's so obvious you know the how sensitive product is what is to to our pains that the longest chapter that we have in the Gospel According to spiritism is blessed are the afflicted with so many lessons and Communications from the spirits and development of the reasoning from cardiac and the the of course everything is starting from from Jesus just to give this you know um comfort to our souls in terms of what we have to face during our lifetime here on

the reasoning from cardiac and the the of course everything is starting from from Jesus just to give this you know um comfort to our souls in terms of what we have to face during our lifetime here on a so cardek wrote The Gospel According to spiritism if you don't know I would urge you to to get it to familiarize with the the content but most importantly I think it's chapter five yeah chapter five blessed are The Afflicted which is a source of tremendous Comfort to all of us and I think I want to say this topic is not so hard for us the Pains of the Soul right because the news is we all are going through some sort of thing it is something that is quite Universal and so quite easy to to speak about but uh back to thank you for for talking about cardiac and I wanted to you know what what have we learned in anaive we we talk a little bit about um personal unconscious Collective unconscious we also talk about um uh atavistic Heritage right or we try to but I want to know what is our role what is our role to address the things of the Soul how do we contribute to this immense sea of pain and suffering that exists and the memory of it all that we carry in our Collective and conscious so as a good union I will start from the end not from the beginning we heard like this in a circle circular way but um as I was telling you about the transpersonal dimension of the psych when we say that we are all one we are all children of the Transcendent one of God what does that mean why do we even have Pains of the Soul if we are he is her because it's of course there is no gender in the Transcendent one so the this Unity we are part all of us are part of this Unity so why do we have Pains of the soul in first place to start with okay we are beings of light right uh we know that we can vibrate in different ways according to our spiritual evolution but um Emmanuel says to shikshavir and I like very much that that materialism would die for lack of matter I love this sentence and we are in the

in different ways according to our spiritual evolution but um Emmanuel says to shikshavir and I like very much that that materialism would die for lack of matter I love this sentence and we are in the in a getting there of course we are in in these days in a paradox all over the globe because if we look we have never been so materialist as Society needing things uh needing objects a struggling working a lot to get things physically right but at the same point there is all this movement it's happening together that we are developing as I think in a you know really Quantic way really fast way we we are like in a spiritual awakening of humanity a lot of people I talk with to a lot of people and I'm doing a research actually in partnership with United States but I will tell you that later uh we are researching anomalous experiences there is spiritual experiences and what we have already already collected of data a lot of people have spiritual experiences okay telepathic minimistic uh you know and visions and what we call numinous experiences experiences of the Sacred but they won't tell anyone many times because they are afraid that people will call them crazy if they don't have um an understanding a culture a family a religion that can give some kind of container to this experience they simply won't say anything especially unfortunately to medical doctors that are to this day a lot of the medical field is changing but to this day they are we call medicine based in evidence I will be talking a lot about that in the afternoon so which means for a lot of my colleagues that it you just have to ask for exams the machines blood testing this and that and we you will get to a diagnosis um and okay I know we know that that's not the case so because we are talking about the spirit and to this day a lot of psychiatrists that still believe that our minds are a product of our brains and we know that studying a near-death experiences that that visions anomalous experiences that and I I agree

s day a lot of psychiatrists that still believe that our minds are a product of our brains and we know that studying a near-death experiences that that visions anomalous experiences that and I I agree with Jung as a medical as a psychiatrist that it's not the brain that produces the mind is the spirit and the minus part of the spirit that uses the brain okay so this changes everything and I'm quite sure when the research that are being doing in this past 40 years and are accelerating a lot in this field we are it's going to prove the spirit as Emmanuel tells shiku shavier in the late the earliest 19 so the past Century before the even the second world war so we are getting there to this point that materialism would would end because of lack of matter and we are talking about that now we are listening to each other as we have as a spiritist with our souls with our higher self let's say with our higher consciousness so we we can see each other in a body of Flesh here in our personalities and we get anxious and we um try to do the best we can with our egos but at the same time at the same time people we are especially in these days of transition of humankind to another level of vibration we are each time more talking with our and feeling and perceiving things and relating to each other as in our beautiful young um instrument and um a musician here was playing a piano thank you so much for that uh because we know that the music especially the higher uh created music right the classicals they immediately send us to another vibration to the vibration of the Spirit by the way that's all this music and I have young people that work with me and also I have a daughter and a and a son and they say mother if you say that you are going to be canceled if you say that and you're going to be scans but what can I say classical classicals are classicals so we know that that they that they send us to another vibration okay so what I wanted to for instance music if we have pain of the Soul we don't

but what can I say classical classicals are classicals so we know that that they that they send us to another vibration okay so what I wanted to for instance music if we have pain of the Soul we don't have even to you know consider fraud and young enough we have just to connect and that's Joanna even a lot of people start reading John and say wow that's so difficult because she uses a lot of younger terms that's why we we teach a lot of young before even reading Joanna so that people can understand the concept of the self the collective unconscious and this and that and what coming back to your question uh so our inheritance um as in humans uh but so we don't even have to understand that much we just have to start reading and asking Joanna and the mentors for help and going ahead and believing that all this knowledge is not outside of us Joanna is simply and I I know that devout would agree with me I can feel that that you want to in the father would agree that uh they are Awakening our souls to acknowledge that it's not don't have to go all through medical school or psychology school or you know even read all the books you have just start reading to you know um rekindle the sparkle of light in understanding and and wisdom that we have within ourselves our psych why because of what you said I was saying that Alan kadak brings to us we are evolving Spirits so we bring to this life a lot of knowledge but of course returning to the Pains of the Soul um a lot or we can say to a lot to some people less to others but we all go through sufferings in this life because our ego to start with uh suffers to adapt in this life and suffer uh suffers also the childhood experiences we all have traumas we because our parents were not perfect we are not perfect we are going to get there some some point the archangels in some way in our Evolutions but it's not yet so of course we have pains and our culture that it's so materialistic in this Paradox that I was telling about provides a lot more pain the social

angels in some way in our Evolutions but it's not yet so of course we have pains and our culture that it's so materialistic in this Paradox that I was telling about provides a lot more pain the social media for the young people that are here we have a lot of research in Psychiatry that are showing that you know it gives a lot give a lot of pain the social medias to especially to adolescence and and young people why because it costs for the ego to try to achieve something that many times it's not interesting to that person particularly and even for instance a musician like our wonderful um Gabrielle here was playing the piano I'm quite sure he wouldn't like you know as a lot of teenagers in Brazil to be looking at some you know silly things in the Instagram or whatever that and agree with everybody give likes you know because you have to to be uh popular in Instagram or whatever Facebook this and that because it gives pain in the soul I'm worried about other stuff um it's not because I'm a teenager or I'm a child that I'm not a very old Spirit many many times much older than sometimes we that are old In the Flesh right and so this this is very important that the culture recognize this wonderful Souls that are arriving to help us in this transition and if we get stuck in this materialistic world then we give them pains in the soul and we give ourselves pains in the soul because as Joanna says and Marshall was telling us we all bring uh issues that were supposed to work through this life integrate we say we we bring pieces of Shadows okay is accounts in jungen concept the Shadow and uh Joanna talks a lot about that expanding this concept so we all bring pieces of Shadow let's say that makes easier for us that causes pains in our souls is this Shadow within all of us that cause all those sad Shadows that cause the Pains of the soul that are the cause so our main purpose for reincarnations in psychological and spiritual uh way of thinking is to illuminate these Shadows

cause all those sad Shadows that cause the Pains of the soul that are the cause so our main purpose for reincarnations in psychological and spiritual uh way of thinking is to illuminate these Shadows to integrate them let's go back to Jesus so to love ourselves with self-compassion and with forgiving ourselves and also as jusara was saying accepting that's difficult for the ego that's the symbol of the Cross okay different forces um like um pulling us to you know separate places I talked too much and I went to my colleagues to but we can go further on that so this is a very suffering State for the ego to create this Consciousness about ourselves that's why Jesus to summarize was saying love yourself understand yourself forgive yourself accept yourself even your Shadow aspects because if you do that you your light will get stronger thank you we have five minutes just Sarah can you wrap it up and can you move to the last slide so that all of you can see and I know it's small print but those are all the references in Joanna's collection as well as uh uh the nucleus of cycle uh psychological studies it's in Portuguese only apologies two books uh as well as the the new book uh also in Portuguese just published those are amazing resources just on this topic so we can leave it there go ahead decide if you can wrap it up yeah I I was speaking when I installed in that die I'll have to correct myself because I said that there is no easy recipe for us to eliminate the Pains of the soul and actually there is one that Jesus taught us more than 2 000 years ago which is love one another so this is our goal to love one another but to love one another starts with the love of ourselves and um I think that every time we we go straight in this path of understanding through fraternity that we are brothers and sisters and understanding that we are children of God and it starts looking and pinpointing differences in in other cultures in other people and trying to look for things that will set us apart instead of

ers and understanding that we are children of God and it starts looking and pinpointing differences in in other cultures in other people and trying to look for things that will set us apart instead of putting us together we are going to be going through this path of experiencing pain because we have not achieved yet the the the the meeting of our own self because when we go to the self as we were explaining um understanding is understanding the soul and understanding the soul like Jung talks about from the perspective of the spirit so while I have a goal which is to reach this stage in humanity and I'm not going through that the way I should I will be experiencing the pains there are the results of my poor choices of me eliminating possibilities of learning and growing because I I have prejudices I think that this is not good for me this is not the right way of conducting myself this is not the right food this is not the right language this is not the right Behavior and the more we experiencing ourselves the pains we have so in this in this case by not going in the straight line we choose to us a different path that we will incline us to become more sympathetic to the Pains of others to have compassion so I don't want to go in a straight line to the line of love I will have to go through the line of compassion meaning what I feel the pains myself and when I feel the pain and someone comes to me and reports that they are going through the same kind of troubles the same kind of challenges I know what they're talking about I can sympathize I can have compassion here then so we can go in a straight line or we can go you know through those the staff that it is still very painful to us and one thing that you want to De Angela is talking is actually several of those books and they're just chapters Is How We should strive to have a more positive view of life it's very much like when you you know when we are looking uh we look at at life uh or things that are happening and

d they're just chapters Is How We should strive to have a more positive view of life it's very much like when you you know when we are looking uh we look at at life uh or things that are happening and we see it from a negative perspective or from a positive perspective so when I'm going through those challenges I would say okay this is going to be helping me to be more sympathetic to the Pains of others this will help me grow and um you know and we we all know people that look outside and complains because it's raining complain because it's cold complain because it's it's a sunny day so this is what Joanna D'Angelo is telling us here to make an assessment of things to make an assessment of ourselves and our lives and it starts thinking thinking more about the positive aspects of our lives let not give or put all our energy in what is not right now because there are so many beautiful things thank you thank you I want to to hear from you and I'd like to invite our colleague Leo Vera to come to the podium I'll join you in just a second and um wanted to to just maybe if I may complement what we're saying we're not idolizing Joanna right but if you think in terms of um Jesus is the foundation right Freud is perhaps the ground floor Jung are the walls and Joanna comes and she puts the roof and she integrates all those teachings and makes it very easy for at least it is for me to start to delve into very complex topics I invite all of you to listen to this to amaze women be under the uh guests to our weekly podcast is every Friday so uh but with that I'm going to excuse myself yes go ahead I just wanted to give you a message 30 minutes we yeah 30 seconds sorry yeah but this is a Freud and slip so I just wanted to a sentence that I synchronistically I listened this morning um and I want to leave it with you because that we are also in many of the podcasts we have a n Sinclair from the the UK with us and I love when she says for me Joanna GI angelis is a light teacher and um and a light teacher is a non-dual

ause that we are also in many of the podcasts we have a n Sinclair from the the UK with us and I love when she says for me Joanna GI angelis is a light teacher and um and a light teacher is a non-dual teacher when we achieved this teachings of the spirit not only of the ego and not only of the psyche oh and so I just wanted to give you this sentence um that I listened this morning uh that uh we are not a drop in the ocean we are the ocean in a drop thank you thank you thank you I would be remiss if I wouldn't introduce Leo Leo who's here to help us manage your questions I'm really excited we have more questions than time I'm afraid so let's just just keep doing as much as we can maybe you come back next year to address those questions just kidding but Alia is one of the founders in an active worker in many different areas of the spirited Society of Baltimore in Maryland he has conducted and helped with many different types of Works including study groups mediumship meetings and public talks thank you Leo for being here you get the mic thank you hello everyone and good morning I would like to say that this was an interesting moment of my life reading several of these questions no we will not wait until next year uh what we would like to propose is that for the questions that will not be answered today we will have a space dedicate space in the United States Spirit Federation page as well as the spiritist uh Symposium page where you'll be able to see the answers for your questions so a lot of homework for us because there are a lot of questions not only for these two speakers but also the speakers that will come in later on today so what I would like to do is to combine some of these questions so that we can be as effective as possible with our time and the first one that I would like to start with is that in Portland Oregon it's legal to terminate life with Elton euthanasia how spiritism sees it What patients and doctors what are the patients doctors responsibility but please what were your

ith is that in Portland Oregon it's legal to terminate life with Elton euthanasia how spiritism sees it What patients and doctors what are the patients doctors responsibility but please what were your thoughts so I'd like to combine this uh in terms of how can we help someone thinking about suicide sometimes we think as as a dichotomy but it's really the sensation of life so I would like to ask you ladies please the best of the ability to combine an answer to for these two questions so we have euthanasia and then suicide in terms of health how the spirit doesn't see it so I will address the the second topic um as uh has mentioned the more we learn about the reality of the spirit the last we will find reason to give up on life because you cannot give up on life life will continue whether with this body this garment or not but one thing that I I would like to perhaps to call the attention of all of you is um it is not easy to recognize people that maybe having suicidal thoughts and looks can be deceiving and I think that we should pay attention really when we are talking to people there is this idea of being mindful of everything that we are doing and one other thing is when we are talking to people when we are talking to our friends to feel their souls because sometimes I mean just let's think about robbing Williams for instance a very chatty outgoing person in the public that's it's it would exhale happiness and at the end of the day he couldn't bear with the Pains of the Soul so it's not just because the person is down or talking about it that about contemplating suicide that this can be an issue let's pay attention to those they are always smiling always saying that everything is good but deep down they are not that well and I think spiritism in the sense we will help us to to recognize that by truly paying attention and not just you know flipping like we flip pictures nowadays so easily not really paying attention to the other so every time we we talk to someone let's talk through the eyes uh

uly paying attention and not just you know flipping like we flip pictures nowadays so easily not really paying attention to the other so every time we we talk to someone let's talk through the eyes uh let's try to get in tune with the same heartbeat and then we will be able to recognize and and not being afraid of talking about hope and without realizing in a conversation with friends we may bring so many topics that can put us down and that could be the turning point for someone to to get into this idea of giving up of not seeing light and everything that we learn and when we think about you know the coming of Jesus to us from our perspective today how bad it was to leave two thousand years ago over variants were here but then come this light that believes in us that tells us about the possibilities that we have and so this is what we have to do not you know being the light ourselves because we are too small but I mean at least to be the messengers of this light and bring messages of Hope so that we can go through whatever life is throwing to us with peace and more enthusiasm in terms of life and living as I just wanted to add um in in suicide that song from Psychiatric point of view the research show uh that if you develop your spirituality the rates of suicide attempts and you know go really down spirituality and also you know people's religions if they give a container the community that can help uh but a special spirituality especially spirituality the rates go really down so I think um this is all very important that uh these days of Crisis where after the pandemic a lot of traumas going on that we you know can talk about this especially this September this month as Marcia was saying the importance of diagnosing the the diagnostic that if the person has depression or this and that but also what we are doing here today it's very very important and about Tunisia right so um from this uh spiritual and psychological point of view uh there is actually um not a way to justify it okay because

what we are doing here today it's very very important and about Tunisia right so um from this uh spiritual and psychological point of view uh there is actually um not a way to justify it okay because this would be okay from the materialistic point of view if we are just paying attention to the body and that we don't want our loved ones to suffer and they are suffering pains probably and okay there is no reason to go on and this and that but that's the materialistic point of view from the spiritual and the psychological but then we are talking about death death psychology we call Union psychology that psychology because or complex psychology and I quickly I just reminded of Mahi Louise from France was one of Jung's closest collaborator in man and his symbol if you haven't read I think everybody should read at least once a man in his symbol so um she is one of the main authors together with Jung that was very old when he wrote man and his symbol for the General Public uh and um quickly I I when I was listening to the question it reminded me Von France so she had a patient that was also an analyst in training and this analyst and I know that a lot of people that um palliative care oncology and you know when medical personnel that are taking care of patients that are dying many times they have contact with the patient tells them uh kind of experiences of seeing someone in the room that has already like the grandmother or the mother that is coming to um you know to stay with us in in with them in those last moments and the doctors will say oh this is because of a lot of medicine in the blood they are hallucinating and this and that but we have research in this and so um Luis Von France uh patient there was an analyst told her her and a lot of Jung had a lot of uh cases like that that he had um I think she was like she well the the analyst had a turdish year old patient himself who was in the final stages of a very bad cancer that was all spread all around the body uh so if the they had open Asia for

he was like she well the the analyst had a turdish year old patient himself who was in the final stages of a very bad cancer that was all spread all around the body uh so if the they had open Asia for instance I don't know the country I think it was Switzerland and then so uh okay this girl this lady young lady would have been like terminated her life and um what happened wouldn't have helped happen what happened the analysts decided to go she was in a coma a terminated you know terminal with cancer in the brain spread to the brain all that but he would sit but he would go to the hospital sit by her her side and in the time of the session once or twice a week just sit there and stay with her nothing spiritual whatever and then at some point and she was terminal okay she was going to die her brain was totally gone she woke up she talks to him they have a session actually and she tells him a dream she was in a coma she didn't have a brain anymore uh uh and she talks to him about a dream that she had that she was going to to go traveling quite soon that she had left the hospital this and that and uh he talks to her and then she just goes there close her eyes in the coma again and then the guy says okay what's going on okay and then he okay he leaves and when he leaves he gets to know that after this session uh she died okay so if we do alternator if we authorize that the spirit is in the body it's not because it's not using the brain as we know it but it's using okay the spiritual brain or whatever the subtle body we wouldn't have this this type of you know experience and we wouldn't actually this proves the existence of the spirit as Jung said that the spirit this is using the brain so um I think this would answer yeah but um I think that suicide is really uh ideation suicide ideation is really a desire to seize the pain not the life right and terminating the life will not cease the pain and and that's what I would say to anyone who is listening I have a question here

cide ideation is really a desire to seize the pain not the life right and terminating the life will not cease the pain and and that's what I would say to anyone who is listening I have a question here how can spiritism and psychology help to re reduce the Silence of mental illness um those who are lonely those who lack a sense of belonging of connection in practical ways how can we do that any thoughts spirited the lack of awareness to mental illness and and I I think that um the way we we studying spiritism and making it very clear about the need for us to seek medical treatment regardless and and what kind of treatment do you do you need in terms of your physical or mental illnesses I think one of the the most important things that we will find in the spirit is is to remove the the Prejudice that many people may have in relation to mental illnesses uh be because uh not long ago a few decades ago uh people would hide uh their conditions on the fear of being labeled and with that perhaps a compromising their life in society nowadays I I think we are living a phase that it is the quite the opposite it's like what kind of medicine are you taking what is your diagnosis and when I I think about you know this that we just talked about the alternation it can be a reflex of the process of anxiety that we all are going through I'm so anxious that I don't want to wait for die death I I will do it in Saturday myself so I I think in this sense espiritus makes it very clear about out the traumas that we bring not only from this life but from previous lives and the conditions that is Spirit are bringing to each and each new Incarnation so in this sense when IT addresses with this deadness everything that us now in this Incarnation may be facing it is going to promote even more you know the inner search but also to realize when I need I will need help help to decodify all of that and and sorry to say but I mean if it's not in the spiritual center that we are going to find that in the spirit Center we are

also to realize when I need I will need help help to decodify all of that and and sorry to say but I mean if it's not in the spiritual center that we are going to find that in the spirit Center we are going to be understanding us and that understanding us as an immortal spirits but when it comes to this process of diving deeply into us into ourselves and being able to deal with that we need professionals and we need to realize when we need this uh you know uh Community a community of people you know that can guide us in this way so I I think that in in this sense is is in terms of spiritual beliefs and Concepts it is spiritism is is way ahead because it takes you to pay attention to yourself as a spirit and bringing all those experiences and not trying to muscle them back in your heads but to bring them forward to to deal with things to solve things and to of course shine more after you are able of dealing with them well and from the psychological and psychiatric point of view of course we have our body we have our neurons we have our neurotransmitters and all of that so we need uh and it's very nice that you said I said and we know the spirit is bring all this um reality of okay we are in a body we have to take care of our bodies so of course we have to go to the medical doctor we have to go to the psychiatrist to have a evaluation of what our symptoms are yes and maybe have some medicine okay so this part I think we all everybody agree with that agrees with that and but then we have the Pains of the soul that we have we can we have the teachings of beautiful souls as when ajangles Emmanuel and all the guys you know in different um parts of the world actually because we have a beautiful knowledge in other cultures too so we have to work through our pains in of ourselves and I think that um there is something very important about mental illnesses that we haven't talked about that medical doctors are called the placebo effect I think all of you know the placebo so they joke to this day oh they

is something very important about mental illnesses that we haven't talked about that medical doctors are called the placebo effect I think all of you know the placebo so they joke to this day oh they are having for research purposes for instance they have a pill that it's made of sugar let's say and you take the pill and you get better you viewers yourselves many times um you know and you'll get better oh hahaha they smile many times and they say well this is because the person is imagining things and that but okay but the fact is that the effect is there that the person got better or sometimes even healed uh himself herself so what is the placebo effect what is the placebo is our mind our thoughts our emotions connected to our wanting to get better and as a psychiatrist not only an analyst as a psychiatrist and an analyst I can tell that in the analysis in Psychotherapy of all the different lines of work fraud and young what we try to do is to connect to the healthy part of the of the client as you say in the United States the healthy part of the person because why because the healthy part of the person is the one that is going to heal the person it's not the Doctor Who's going even I have a lot of experience for instance with um I don't do that anymore because I work as an analyst but with medicine for instance but even my teachers in medical school my professors would say well always when you prescribe a medication you are giving the medication both with yourself of the the the Mad medical the the doctor and the patient relationship what is that it's faith the the clients the patient has faith in the doctor in the treatment he believes that he is going to be healed and then he's healed many many times but if he doesn't believe and if the the doctor like say doesn't make this connection probably you can give him all the drugs in I won't do a marketing of pharmacies but all the drugs in one Pharmacy and the patient will not get you can give all the anti the presence for instance

ction probably you can give him all the drugs in I won't do a marketing of pharmacies but all the drugs in one Pharmacy and the patient will not get you can give all the anti the presence for instance and the person will not get better so we have to believe in ourselves we have to not be presidential against uh mental disease we have to study we have to develop our spirituality that's the way we have five minutes so I would like to do the same thing I would like to combine a question that we receive from the web and uh that goes hand in hand with another one that we received here so start with uh Luis villaca um he asks how should us as Spirit spiritist comprehend and accept our pain with evolving Dimension and Alzheimer's symptoms on close family members so on this question dimension in Alzheimer's right and then the question that we received from the audience is how should we handle mental diseases depression anxiety in the family the family member lives in a different city and we have difficulties to communicate often we have tried psychologists but the member stops going so we have once more Dimension Alzheimer's and obviously depression and anxiety in the Family Circle can you sure how should us as spiritists comprehend and accept our pain with evolving Dimension and Alzheimer's symptoms on close family members okay well I have a mother that has Alzheimer and I told we had an event in assis in josada and Marsa were there and I told everybody that I was watching my mother my mother's rebirth okay but her ego was diminishing is actually she can't remember the daughters the grand children and she has now very severe Alzheimer but she has changed her personality in a way I know that a lot of people that have um people at home with Alzheimer's or dementia know that sometimes the changes for Wars well they have to have medication but in the case of my mother was for the best in a sense that she started giving thanks for everyone she would she wouldn't do that when she was

the changes for Wars well they have to have medication but in the case of my mother was for the best in a sense that she started giving thanks for everyone she would she wouldn't do that when she was you know she's a scientist she was pretty much in um she worked a lot for development of a lot of people in intelligence in children and this and that but she was caught in she had a knowledge of that once she told me when she Grew Older she was caught in her ego and this I I'm quite sure gave her um some suffering for her soul okay and I think Alzheimer and dimension we as children uh of you know a reality our relatives or things that we people that we love that have Alzheimer's in the Mansion uh we feel while my father mother or my grandmother grandfather are not here and I feel disconnected and they can't feel me anymore so I mourn them I feel very sad we should actually don't cancel me but we should be glad for them because their egos are diminishing and the soul is expanding and it's freeing itself from this life that it's what um this life for this this personality let's say because life goes on in spirit is it tells us so this is very important I'm actually of course my ego suffers for uh I'm not saying that I don't cry sometimes that I don't miss my mom this is my ego talking but my higher self my soul is happy for her because I'm and I'm very grateful to the mentors to the spiritual guides because I know they are there helping her to re in her rebirth for the you know spirituality and the spiritual dimension so we we are in this Paradox caught caught in this bear nut and the next question about mental disease people with mental disease in our homes right correct depression and depression and anxiety that also gave me a hard time people because as a psychiatrist and an analyst uh we have this you know drive to heal everyone to make everyone happy I don't know if you read Pollyanna when you were young I did and I was the joke in my mind and somebody told oh this is

n analyst uh we have this you know drive to heal everyone to make everyone happy I don't know if you read Pollyanna when you were young I did and I was the joke in my mind and somebody told oh this is silly and the girl is always trying to sit in the past and then I heard from a great expertise friend um and I it's very hard to be positive and I said yes it's very hard but we struggle to be like Pollyanna but in a sense so going back to the question if you have people that have that suffer and sometimes we are responsible for them because we have children and we have to watch them that all this problem with teenagers for instance in this world of ours with crisis after pandemic stuck in the computers in video games and stuff like that sometimes violent ones and we want to take them to a psychologists do the Psychotherapy and we can't because they are not children anymore so what this happens so what I can tell you acceptance we struggle we can give the best advice we can give them books we can talk to them but you have to accept that people each one of us are in their own in his her own path to Evolution to spiritual evolution even sometimes we are not going to be able to reach them we would like that but we won't be able to so accept that everyone has he is her own path of evolution don't you know don't put in yourself the burden of other people's even I know this is hard because I also have children even if it's your own children you are not responsible you do the best you can the responsibility is of the spirit the struggle the strength has to come from within do the best we can to advise to send links to talk especially if it's teenager you know the the real the person in the family but accept that we all have limits and that we have to respect other people's evolution Dr Fonseca well we would like to thank all of you Dr Fonseca for this moment and the audience as well for asking these beautiful questions I would like to also um give thanks to those in the audience

s is my first children my child right this is my first luck my second child is my second look unfortunately because they're they're not allowed to work legally in Malawi many of them has to prostitute themselves to provide their families fraternity Without Borders started a program called mothers of the feud and just by the disaleaka camp where the mothers can work in the crops take their children in the to the schools get a salary and the most important thing get their dignity back fraternity without Boris is present in eight different countries more than 70 fronts of work among them uh taking care of children with microcephalim in paraiba in Brazil the Sheltering orphans in Congo taking care of homeless people in Brazil as well and obviously one of these programs is also the mothers of the field in Malawi so if you had the chance there's a booth over there you can get her book a nice shirt like that as well sponsor of family volunteer or join a caravan thank you very much it's what guides us that says without charity there's no salvation that's it guys there is no reason to not to help so please join us in helping so let's continue our program remember to write down your questions as you did before and take them to welcome desk which were volunteers and in the afternoon there will be a q a panel with the speakers of all the next sections so now let's introduce our next speaker Dan Assisi who talk about achieving mental and spiritual balance a current Global challenge then a cc is an author and an international speaker who has delivered hundreds of talks and conferences on spirituality in over 60 cities on four continents known for a mix of deep thinking and witty humor then takes a unique approach to spirituality that is tipped in reason to remind audiences everywhere for a spiritual nature he's a founding member of The spiritus Institute and of the California expertise Association and hosts the spiritist conversations podcast please welcome them good morning everyone

a spiritual nature he's a founding member of The spiritus Institute and of the California expertise Association and hosts the spiritist conversations podcast please welcome them good morning everyone it is a pleasure to be here with you today and I also understand that I am the last person between you between you and lunch so if you bear with me for the next couple of minutes we are going to be able to talk about an important topic achieving mental and spiritual balance which is something that I know I could use a lot of help with so you're ready all right let's get at it and let's be honest the world is going through a rough phase I think that we can all agree that life is not exactly at its easiest these days I mean we have just come out of a pandemic that has really changed the way we look alive many of us have feared for our lives and the lives of those next to us and to this point we are still struggling a little bit with the idea of what does work look like can I work from home do I change do I move cities and it really has upended the way that we look at what we do and how we relate to others but of course that is not the only thing going on and as a matter of fact we know that in this very moment we have war in Ukraine we have war in different parts of the world in general going on and there is this anger towards each other this arrogance that we can just impose our will onto the next person and that is really taxing because it doesn't let us it doesn't really let us stay at ease because we worry that it could happen to us at any point in time and that's that's tough too and of course there is also a lot of economic uncertainty we are worried about inflation we are worried about our jobs we are worried about artificial intelligence and what the future work could look like would that change how I earn a living would it change my jobs and we are frazzled by these different things that really shake us up in our day-to-day piece but but there's more like a bad infomercial

would that change how I earn a living would it change my jobs and we are frazzled by these different things that really shake us up in our day-to-day piece but but there's more like a bad infomercial there is more right we also know the world is full of inequities we know that things are not even we know that people are still not treated equally and that it might vary because of their social status because of the color of their skin their sexual preference we know that the world needs a little bit of help as a matter of fact just to walk up here reminds us that as a society we have not done a good job in caring for all our citizens we have not found a way to take care of everybody we see so many of our neighbors on unhoused neighbors living in conditions that are so difficult and it's not important problem it is a world problem and of course I would be remiss to also mention that we couldn't be that that we could be doing a little bit better on the tolerance front we seem to be collectively as a society having a really tough time being accepting of each other's perspectives where we sit in the political Spectrum where we live and what we think is right shouldn't be reason for us to not accept our neighbor for how they are and all these things going on at once are really tough I mean to be honest just talking about this gets me a little anxious gets me a little bit worried how about you so I can understand that if this is all we are seeing every day it will knock us out of our perch it will stay in our minds in such a way as to bring us a little bit of unbalance and so what is it that we could do to be able to understand how to navigate all these things are there lessons is there a way for us to be able to pack all of this and make sense of the world so that we can hit live better and more fulfilling lives and for that I would love to hearken back to another uh interesting period of of our communal life I want to go back to 1671. and in this particular time I find very interesting because it was

g lives and for that I would love to hearken back to another uh interesting period of of our communal life I want to go back to 1671. and in this particular time I find very interesting because it was just a couple of years before in 1666 that the Great Fire of London took place and basically wiped out three quarters of the city of London a little oven that was left on and bakery in puddin Lang that caught fire and all the houses and brought great destruction to a city and during that time much like ours we were trying to find out how do we rebuild how do we start again and how do we repurpose and re-signify life and so a decision was made to rebuild Saint Paul's Cathedral beautiful cathedral that has stood and let get hell in the same place since the 600s it was burnt down and they figured they need to rebuild this and they hired a famous architect Sir Christopher Wren who has built more than 50 different churches in the whole of London and he came up with grandiose plan plans to build Saint Paul's Cathedral that stand to this day in that location it's a beautiful place but what I find most interesting is that as a good architect as a good Builder he would inspect his work every so often and The Story Goes that in one particular day in 1671 he went to take stock of how the cathedral was growing and it was being built and in his way to examining the building he found three different Brick Layers at work the first one seemed really frazzled and worried so he went to talk with him and he asked what are you doing and the first bricklayer says I'm a bricklayer I am working hard to lay bricks so that I can feed my family and he understood his worry and he continued on and he saw a second brick layer that wasn't perhaps as frazzled as the first but it was still working hard and he asked him what is it that you are doing and he said I'm a builder I am building a wall and touched by that he seemed to notice a third brick layer that was a little bit more Jolly a little bit happier than

him what is it that you are doing and he said I'm a builder I am building a wall and touched by that he seemed to notice a third brick layer that was a little bit more Jolly a little bit happier than the other two Brick Layers even though he too was laying bricks to create this new cathedral so intrigued Sir Christopher Wren went to him and said and what are you doing who are you and the third bricklayer turned to him with joy and a smile in his face and says I am a Mason and I am building a cathedral to the Almighty and that is such a powerful story and is so emblematic of our days because the three of them were laying bricks the three of them were working on the same project the three of them had the same role a day or in vastly different worlds because the way that they saw their work and how they went about this dictated their whole perception of what the task was in their role in the world and I wonder if there isn't a lesson in there for us in this time and age as we are also trying to rebuild the work who are we are we laying bricks are we building walls or are we constructing a cathedral I know that I would very much like to stay in that place of joy of that bricklayer that was building a cathedral who could find the happiness of the work he was doing and see the reason for all his toils but I also know that in our day-to-day it's hard sometimes to remain in that perspective so what is it that we could do to have that perspective in our lives in such a way that it eases our path through the challenges of living well fortunately there are some strategies that we can think of and some of these strategies can help us achieve balance and this is something that research tells us for instance we know that connecting with others on a daily basis help us become happier and more fulfilled human beings human interaction helps us remember why we're here and help us work while we're laying bricks we also know that being Physically Active it's important research shows us

and more fulfilled human beings human interaction helps us remember why we're here and help us work while we're laying bricks we also know that being Physically Active it's important research shows us that if we are in the funk that if we're being a little bit tired more Rose a little bit sometimes depressed that physical exercise will release hormones and endorphins that will help our body not feel trapped but see different possibilities and contemplate the world in a better place so physical exercise is also a component that could help you in your mental health Quest but there's more we also know that learning new skills doing things differently helps us get out of our rut and helps us see different things and feel like we're going places and that we're growing and that also AIDS us in our quest to maintain our balance and understand that we have an important role to play that we're not just Lane bricks that we're building something but we also know this is where it gets really beautiful and this research tells us that when we give to others when we volunteer when we help others even when we are not feeling so great ourselves we begin to feel better because we are able to take a step back from our condition and understand that there are other people also going to things in our pain is lessened for that moment and here's the beautiful thing I think we begin to realize that even in our darkest moments even when we are struggling we can make a difference in somebody else's life even when we are at our worst we have something to give to the universe even when we don't know what to do we can help build a beautiful cathedral and a fifth tip that is also research based is it's important to pay attention to the present moment to where we are to be where our feet are not thinking about what happened yesterday and how I messed that thing up or I got it right not worrying about what's going to happen tomorrow of course it's good to take stock and reflect and it's good to plan

ng about what happened yesterday and how I messed that thing up or I got it right not worrying about what's going to happen tomorrow of course it's good to take stock and reflect and it's good to plan for the future but it's important to be here where you are so that anxiety and angst doesn't take the best of you when you are here you remember that you are okay in this very second year whether you're in this Auditorium or you're watching us you are okay so take a deep breath in be here and be mindful of where you are and that is a wonderful moment in fact these are wonderful strategies but without application they might mean nothing to us so why don't we practice a little bit let's get you moving let's do this go to someone who you have never met before introduce yourself say hey I am Dan I'm from San Diego and offer something of yourself and I'm here because this or my favorite color is this and we'll take a moment whatever it is give something of ourselves to others go you know me go find somebody else can you keep it up hello can you keep it up so I can say the time thank you absolutely okay all right all right we said one person one person not everybody right so let's find our way back to our seats thank you thank you very much for being willing participants in this application of knowledge we deeply appreciate the opportunity to connect with different people and hopefully you also like stretching your legs a little bit right and here why this is so great because you get to know somebody else that is new and that maybe has similar interests as you you could form wonderful relationships from this and there's something else too the World Health Organization tells us that one out of four people will struggle with mental and neural neurological disorders in their lifetime so look around find three people just look at them you or one of these three people will suffer at one point in time the challenges of this world and you may just have talked to that person or that person may just have talked to

ople just look at them you or one of these three people will suffer at one point in time the challenges of this world and you may just have talked to that person or that person may just have talked to you you may just made a bridge that changes somebody's day and that's a beautiful day and that's the beauty of what we are trying to remind ourselves of here which is there are strategies for achieving balance but to be honest there are moments in which I personally struggle in remembering them or why they should be there there are days that I have a tough time remembering that I am more than just laying bricks in this life and so what could we do to remember to use this strategies to tie it all together and I think this this is really where I think it's great for us to put our attention in spirituality can play a major role in Remembering us to do these things and why they are so important and I think that no other body of knowledge of way of thinking can help us understand the need that and spiritism and that's why I'm so passionate about it because when we think about spirituality and the fact that we are more than the physical body we begin to see things differently it gives us different lengths into the world and we see ourselves not as simple bricklayers having to survive in the day-to-day but spirits who are navigating through space and time growing nourishing ourselves discovering new things and helping build beautiful cathedrals it's like having a different pair of glasses as a matter of fact as a matter of fact I'm a new glassware only in the past months or so I've started to wear glasses for reading up close and surprisingly I realized they really need a glasses and now I can see things like wow I didn't know that I could use glasses until I started wearing glasses so when I put my glasses on I can see things better and spiritism does that to me when I look at the world through a spirit this lens I begin to understand that the world is slightly different than what I imagine

t my glasses on I can see things better and spiritism does that to me when I look at the world through a spirit this lens I begin to understand that the world is slightly different than what I imagine but what is it that spiritism brings to my life that helps me refocus on different things what is it that it's important for us to remember in different ways well obviously the first thing is that we are Immortal spirits and how do we know that then because for the past 160 plus years we spiritus have been researching what is it that it's out there and because of this DNA of inquiry that is built into spiritism we started to investigate this phenomena that were taking place it LEDs us to understand that we're the Consciousness the essence of those who had lived before us were still there and they were trying to communicate with us and we have spent 160 years studying mediumship which is the process by which we can entertain these conversations to learn that indeed what we are survives this physical body and lives on and that in fact we come back as many times through reincarnation as it is necessary for us to grow and that is powerful awareness when it's brought to our daily lives why there's many different reasons but I want to bring three to you today so that we can kind of hold on to them because they might help us in our path to building cathedrals the first one if I can only press the right button is that as we remember that you are an immortal Spirit we come to this natural conclusion that we will live forever and that is reassuring because what I have built and what I have struggled to do with all that I have learning will never cease to be take the pressure off and there's something else that is also true that means that those who are around me who are undergoing the same process are also always going to live on which means the love we build with each other never ends if we don't stop loving those who have passed why is it that sometimes we forget that they have not stopped loving us either

s going to live on which means the love we build with each other never ends if we don't stop loving those who have passed why is it that sometimes we forget that they have not stopped loving us either as a consequence I am led to believe that at any point in time I have an amount of love that I cannot understand being directed at me by those who care about me and that I cannot see especially if I consider that I have had many acquaintances many relationships many colleagues in different lifetimes too so not just the people I know from this life but from previous lives are also supporting me and cheering me on in my process and that means yours are too you're not alone you can do this and that is a powerful awareness and there's something else that comes from that as well and that is that you are ready for anything this world throws at you because we know that there is a God and there is reincarnation which means that you have been preparing for these challenges for many lifetimes and you have survived all the challenges from previous lives before I guarantee you 100 of your worst days you'll survive them and you will survive every other day from the rest of Eternity and if there is a God and there is a God because our spiritual friends tells us so and it makes sense it also means that all the challenges we face today can be solved because a kind and just God a loving God because that is a definition of God will never give us a challenge that we cannot solve now we may not solve it the way we want to but there is a learning there is a lesson to be taken from there there is a solution in there and that is fundamentally important so friends when we think with our spiritual glasses on and begin to think of ourselves as Spiritual Beings we realize that challenges are compliments it is God saying you can do this you can now solve this bigger problem go for it you have the resources you have the friends you have the ability to do it and that is also very incredible and very reassuring

od saying you can do this you can now solve this bigger problem go for it you have the resources you have the friends you have the ability to do it and that is also very incredible and very reassuring and the last one that I want to bring here because there are many more things that we can talk about this we could spend hours talking about the wonderful implications of believing in an immortal life and what spiritism has brought us Remember You Belong everywhere because you're a child of God created by the Creator which means that you are an heir to all of creation which means you can be comfortable wherever it is that you find yourselves if you remember that you will inherit not only the Earth but the entire universe so whatever it is that you are you belong we forget that we move cities we move families we've moved countries and we forget we think that we don't belong but that is our worries just laying bricks not building cathedrals but when we remember that we are Immortal spirits then it becomes a little bit easier for us to contemplate the idea that indeed we can be okay wherever we are that we have love wherever we are and that we can overcome whatever comes our way at any point in time whatever we are and that my friends makes it a tiny bit easier for me to breathe to stop and connect with others to remember I have to take care of my physical body which is a wonderful vehicle for learning that I should learn new skills because I'm going to use them not only now but in lives to come so it's not a waste of time and that when I help give up to others I might also be giving to myself because today I might be in a position to be able to give and tomorrow I might be in a position to receive and not just tomorrow tomorrow but tomorrow tomorrow if you get my drafts in the next life today I might look like this tomorrow I might be a woman of color in a different part of this world and my experience might be different so now why not make it better for all of us right now invest in ourselves

ght look like this tomorrow I might be a woman of color in a different part of this world and my experience might be different so now why not make it better for all of us right now invest in ourselves it makes it easier for me to concentrate In This Moment knowing that if I put my effort in front of me and I can do the things that are presented to me in the best possible manner even though I know that I'm not an expert in everything I am taking a step forward towards not only my own Evolution but that of everything around me I'll do this again I release and I'm present and I'm grateful and I begin to understand that I can truly take a different perspective onto laying bricks in life and so what Cathedral will you build what will you do with the bricks that life brings to you today it is okay for you to lay bricks it is okay for you to build walls but do not forget that you're also building a cathedral that you are creating something special and it doesn't have to be a Monumental Cathedral like that St Paul's when you are raising your family with love and preparing your kids for the future you are giving to the world you are building a cathedral when you are doing the best at work whatever work you be and you're bringing love and you're making it with care and improving things for yourself and for others you are building a cathedral when you are volunteering your time to help those who are in need whether by talking with them or giving some of your money to different causes and helping if you cannot be there you are helping build a cathedral when you're thinking about how to improve yourself and allow yourself to Pardon yourself and accept yourself for who you are and understand the things you've done are now in the past and you are given a choice to do things differently for the future you are building a cathedral and that sometimes it's something that makes me a little bit more at ease and reminds me that I need to pay attention on what truly matters and when I do that the world becomes a

building a cathedral and that sometimes it's something that makes me a little bit more at ease and reminds me that I need to pay attention on what truly matters and when I do that the world becomes a little bit easier mind you I'm still going to have to build but laying those bricks becomes a little bit lighter a little bit better because I know what the end product is and it is beautiful so the calling today that I urge us to make space for in our hearts is how will we use the bricks that life present us with the skills that we have to build the cathedral we think should be built Because deep down inside we know and I think that is the invitation that has been lingering for two thousand years when we have this incredible Spirit Jesus the Christ the scent one the Messiah who is a spirit of an incredible understanding and wisdom that came to show us how to live not just the physical life but transcend this moment and that is why sometimes I like to bring a different picture of what the Christ traditionally is associated with this is a picture painted by a young painter at the time I think she was nine a candy it's called The Prince of Peace how Jesus looked physically it's not important but it's important for us to re-emerge our idea of what Christ and religion and spirituality is to transform that which we had received they may no longer suit us to something more accepting more encompassing that help us build Cathedrals not walls that will divide us because we sometimes do that in our desire to mean something to have a purpose we feel sometimes that if I build this wall I will shut these people and this will be okay for me because there's not enough that is not true because once we put our goggles in once we see spiritually we know that there's more than enough that you are enough and that everything is going to be okay because there is an architect who lay the plans for the cathedral we are building so today in this day and age when there are so many things that will compete for

d that everything is going to be okay because there is an architect who lay the plans for the cathedral we are building so today in this day and age when there are so many things that will compete for your attention and it will trouble you in many different ways and call you to have values that perhaps are not as important as they seem to be and things that will Wane and go away with time focus on the immortal remember on that which would Outlast what you do the character you build and the cathedral that you are helping create which are everyday actions and as we do that my sincerest hope to you is that your mental in spiritual balance will come into focus and you will find that navigating that this world is a lot easier than we previously thought and we will have both the satisfaction the joy and the pleasure of working towards something greater and more beautiful than we could ever imagine and today we start by laying a single brick at a time so I look forward to seeing what Cathedral you have built and what we'll continue to do in the future and help you along the way if we can thank you and peace be with all of us hello what are you I am written a little easier now uh at the same time that I'm having a lot of ideas but my contributes should be so that was pretty awesome a couple of things uh we still have a purple cell phone here if you lost you in a few oh there you go in just a moment uh and a couple of things uh in a moment we're going to be breaking for lunch you've got to go upstairs pick up your kids don't forget kids and teens that are there I know you want to breathe but come on right another thing goes well we're gonna have a bit of a Oprah moment so some of you uh Victor uh lucky seat and so if you look under your seat you're gonna find a little piece of paper that looks just like this it might be on the edge back edge of the seats it's a surprise did you get one get a paper and uh not nobody's listening to me uh you know on your way out stop by the welcome desk uh you're

like this it might be on the edge back edge of the seats it's a surprise did you get one get a paper and uh not nobody's listening to me uh you know on your way out stop by the welcome desk uh you're gonna get the book that is associated with that you know there who is the one who is the winner oh we have a winner all right guys so remember that you check your kids back into their classrooms before you come back from lunch okay so we can continue our presentations so there are several options for lunch around this area and you're in your tote bag there is a list you're gonna have plenty of time for lunch and let me suggest remember that friend that you said hi maybe invite that friend to go out to lunch with you Mingo around right and remember to check our spiritus books for sale schedule a fraternal conversation outside if you wish and please plan to be back at this Auditorium a few minutes before 1 45 it's 12 26 right now we'll be we'll resume the presentations at 1 45 promptly have a wonderful lunch see you soon bye thank you thank you
