Psychology and Spirituality | The Inner Battlefield: The Invisible Wounds pt2 With Marcia Trajano and Dr. Anahy Fonseca and Jussara Korngold The deepest wounds are often the ones no one can see. Why do some of us live trapped in insecurity, anxiety, perfectionism, or emotional exhaustion, even when nothing seems wrong on the outside? According to Joanna de Ângelis, our greatest wounds are often invisible. They are rooted not only in childhood experiences but also in the deeper history of the immortal Spirit. In this episode of Psychology & Spirituality, host Marcia Trajano welcomes dr. Anahy Fonseca and Jussara Korngold to continue to explore how emotional pain shapes our personality, influences our biology, affects our relationships, and ultimately becomes an invitation for healing. Together they explore: • Why insecurity is not weakness but an invitation to self-knowledge • The inferiority complex through the lenses of Jung, Adler, and Spiritism • How the unconscious influences our relationships and decisions • Why we escape reality through perfectionism, overwork, addictions, control, and fantasy • The relationship between neuroscience, psychotherapy, and spiritual healing • The meaning of Jung's individuation and Joanna's concept of the Self • How authentic healing transforms suffering into wisdom References: • The Awakening of the Spirit - Joanna de Angelis | Divaldo Pereira Franco • The Gospel According to Spiritism - Allan Kardec • The Spirits' Book - Allan Kardec Inspirations: • Carl Gustav Jung Carl Gustav Jung For Jung, consciousness represents one of humanity's greatest evolutionary achievements. His interpretation of the Tree of Knowledge can be understood symbolically: the emergence of consciousness brings humanity out of unconscious instinct and into self-awareness, choice, responsibility, and moral conflict. The “fruit” is therefore both a gift and a burden—the beginning of humanity's journey toward individuation and the discovery of the Self. • Sigmund Freud Sigmund Freud revolutionized the understanding of feelings by showing that emotions are deeply influenced by unconscious processes. He proposed that many feelings arise from repressed desires, conflicts, and early childhood experiences, often outside conscious awareness. Through psychoanalysis, Freud demonstrated how anxiety, guilt, and defense mechanisms shape emotional life. He also emphasized the dynamic interaction between the id, ego, and superego in regulating feelings. His work established the idea that emotional suffering can be understood—and transformed—by bringing unconscious material into consciousness through therapeutic dialogue. • Viktor Frankl Viktor Frankl (1905–1997) was an Austrian psychiatrist, neurologist, and Holocaust survivor who founded logotherapy, a psychological approach based on the belief that human life is driven by a search for meaning. While he did not write a textbook specifically on general semiotics (the study of signs and symbols), his famous memoir Man's Search for Meaning is deeply analyzed for its powerful real-life symbols.
